You can have access to all your files from your phone or another computer. I recommend using iCloud as your desktop and documents folders to store your files.
You can program (by this I mean set in settings) your own automatic text replacements for things you type in Mac OS. So you get used to things being easier to learn/faster. Your keyboard shortcuts and dictionaries etc are universal though 99% of apps. You can drag the name of a file from the title bar in a lot of apps to the desktop.
